Lot 751 Adams Mark III .450 Cal #10646
Early British military double action breechloading revolver chambered in .450 Adams. It features a blued finish, 6" octagon barrel, dovetailed blade front sight, 'V' notched rear sight, non-fluted six shot cylinder, serrated pivoting ejector rod, smooth curved trigger, checkered hammer spur, lanyard ring, and a checkered one-piece walnut grip with a metal grip cap. The serial numbers on the frame, loading gate, & cylinder are matching. On the right side of the frame, "TRADE [superimposed 'AJ'] MARK," "ADAM'S PATENT" inside an oval, and "10646" is marked. The revolver displays a blued finish with approximately 45% intact overall showing honest handling wear, thinning, edge wear, and scratches and dings. Action is sound with solid lock-up, the bore is very good with strong rifling, and the markings are good. The wood grip is in excellent condition. The metal shows scattered rust, light pitting, and some heavy dings and scratches on the side of the barrel by the ejector rod.
